NORTH POLE, ALASKA

Candy Cane Street Lights

Those that know me well, know I am in love with Santa

Who knew North Pole wasn’t at the North Pole?   North Pole is a community east of Fairbanks.  Kind of cute - kind of tacky.  In town lamp posts are candy canes,  streets are named “St. Nicholas Drive, Santa Claus Lane”.  Christmas decorations are up all over the place.  There is a Santa Claus house where Santa Claus hangs out ( poor guy only gets a bunch of middle aged women on his lap).  Otherwise it is just an other gift shop.  For those of you who have been North Pole New York is much better.
