THE ADVENTURE WITHIN THE ADVENTURE

Yes, the same problem, no picture not taken at the same time

  - The never ending Trailer Tire and adventure saga.

When we get to Fort Nelson, Henry notices that one of the tires is worn too much on one side, so we head to a mechanic.

They check the axel, wheel, spring etc and the mechanic say nothing wrong.   Henry gets them to flip the tire, and see if the wear continues.  About 150 Km. north of Fort St. Johns,  we have smoke again, coming out of the left tires and axel.   The same bolt from the spring that fell out on the Dempster by Eagles Plain is again gone.  This drops the trailer onto the tires and burns off the tread.   Fortunately someone stops who has a car phone and we can call BCAA, as both Henry and I did not have cell phone coverage.

So what are you going to do, when sitting broken down on the Hwy waiting for a flat bed tow truck.  I choose to clean the trailer well I didn’t even finish before the tow truck arrived.  The tow truck driver helps jack-up the trailer so Henry can put in the spare bolt he had.    Then the tow truck follows us, making sure we arrive safely.  Well the two spring and axel repair shops in Fort St. John’s both are booking into next week. So we head to Kal-Tire for new tires, again, and off we are to Dawson Creek to see if we can get someone to look into what is causing us to lose the bolt.  At United Springs and Brakes they can take in the trailer and work on it for the next 5 hours.  They repack all the wheel bearings, check everything and straighten the bent axel we had.  So I hope this is the end of the trailer tire saga.
