Day 17 June 10th 2011
Today we boarded the Major Marine Tour catamaran for a tour of the Kenai Fjords National Park.

We were blessed to have calm seas and the luck to see many animals; Dall’s porpoises, mountain goats, puffins, murres, sea otters, harbour seals, orcas, humpback whales and stellar sea lions.
The scenery of the fjords was breathtaking.

| Holgate Glacier Calving |
On board our vessel we were served a delicious salmon & prime rib roast buffet. We visited the Holgate Glacier and watched some calving.
The crew harvested a big chunk of glacial ice that was floating and made glacial margaritas with it. The weather was to cool for me to enjoy one and I opted in stead for a spiked hot chocolate, yummy.

We dined in a café that had the NHL game on and were relieved to see the Canucks win. Another great day.
