WOOD BISON

Back in beautiful British Columbia!  We are travelling the Alaska Highway south through BC.  At Watson Lake, the info centre advises us to look out for wood Bison on the road.  They were not kidding.

  We saw 8 big wood Bison bulls just within an hours drive.  We stayed at Liard Hot springs, and in the morning when we went for a walk there was this huge bull walking down the highway. 

 

  He passed two RV’s parked in the overflow parking lot, not caring about the people, trailers or cars on the road.   

We have seen and experienced so much on this trip that it amazing me every day we still seem to experience something new. 

As we left the Liard Provincial Park we came a cross a whole herd of Bison, we estimate there were about 100 of them, with babies! 

They were slowly grazing and strolling along the highway as if they knew they had the right of way.  

 It was an amazing sight.
